Miguel 'Mike' P. Aquino was born May 8, 1936, in Zambales, Philippines, and passed away on December 10, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. Miguel joined the U.S. Navy in 1965 and served during the Vietnam War. He served on various ships including the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk and the U.S.S. Constellation to the U.S.S. Hornet and subsequently retired in 1985. In 1969, Miguel married his wife, Jovita and had 6 children - Trixie, Jane, Jennifer, Wellington, Courtney, and Jocelyn. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, 6 children, their spouses, and 9 grandchildren - Joey, Junior, Alana, Trey, Cailhann, A.J., Lauryn, Noah, and Ember. He also leaves behind a sister, Clarita, and numerous relatives and friends. A man of few words, he enjoyed watching boxing matches, walking all around Mira Mesa - San Diego, keeping up on politics, and spending time with all of his loved ones. His subtle humor and love of family will be dearly missed.
