Merita Sue Nelson

After graduation from Delta High School in 1959, Merita lived briefly in Denver, Colorado before moving to Los Angeles where she attended LA City College. Merita worked at Wil Wright’s and Prudential Insurance before starting Merita’s Boutique, a dress and design shop in West Los Angeles. She moved to Corona, California in 1980 to raise her two children with her husband, Donald Nelson where she also designed and made Renaissance style dresses.

Merita was a tremendously loving mother and adoring grandmother of her grandchild.

Merita was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Thelma Syrie; and husband of 34 years, Donald F. Nelson. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Nelson and son-in-law John Dineen of San Diego; son Donald F Nelson Jr, daughter in law Michele Nelson and grandson Donald Clifford (DC) Nelson of Nutley, NJ.

Merita was preceded in death by siblings Jerl Dean Syrie and Chester Leo Syrie. Her four surviving siblings include Thomas Elvin Syrie, Linda Jane Rae, Grace Esser and Ann Grangroth
