Mary Charlotte Cormier

October 26, 1930 – February 6, 2022

SAN DIEGO, CA- On February 6, 2022,

Mary passed away in the comfort of the home she lived in 55 years, and went to be with God and her husband, Ed Cormier. Mary was with her son, daughters and caregivers.

Mary was a twin. She and her sister Van were born to Francis and Catherine Gillespie and had 2 older siblings, Kay, Francis, and 2 younger siblings, Tom, Mike.

Mary is survived by her children Mary Ann, Joan, Anthony and Edmond, her grandchildren Teresa, Mary and Jocelyn and great grandchildren Tyler and Raegan and her sister Van Gillespie.

Mary’s greatest joy was her family and especially the grandchildren. Mary was always looking out for others. Her home was open to family and friends.

Mary was a charismatic Catholic and longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was an administrator for San Diego League of Women Voters. She helped seniors get food and aide. She helped a Colonia in Mexico with food and necessities. She was generous with her time.

Mary loved playing tennis and bridge and was often at the Balboa Tennis club.

Mary loved music and she sang almost every day.

A Memorial service is scheduled for 12pm on Saturday Feb 26, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Church 4510 El Cerrito Drive, San Diego, CA 92115
