Lisa Marie Carini Gonzalez was born on March 25, 1969, in San Diego, California. She was the middle of three daughters of Norma Alvarez and Phillip Carini. Lisa was called home on November 11, 2014, after battling cancer for nearly two years. Lisa's strength, courage and upbeat spirit were an inspiration and a light in the lives of all who knew her and many others that were blessed to be touched by her life. Lisa graduated from Mira Mesa High School class of 1987. She was loyal to her friends and family and maintained many close friendships from her childhood and high school throughout all the years. This is a true testament of Lisa's love, loyalty and her value of friendship. Lisa worked for Vons for more than 25 years in various customer service and office positions, where she developed even more friendships and truly considered those she worked with as her family. Above all, Lisa cherished her family. She was a loving mother to her son and two daughters and in the end it was for her children that she fought so hard for her life against cancer. She loved going to watch her kids’ baseball, soccer and softball games where she developed many more friendships that she considered her baseball, soccer and softball family. Lisa had great courage and a tremendous spirit. She loved to travel, read, keep family traditions, and spend time with her family and friends celebrating life. Her faith was very strong, and her smile captured her beautiful spirit. She was loved by so many and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her mother Norma Alvarez; father Phillip Carini; son Joseph Carini; daughters Jessica and Sabrina Gonzalez; sisters Maria (Sean) Bowers and Jeanne Renee “Nay” (Alex) Flinn; nephew Aydan Bowers; nieces Isabella and Gracie Bowers and Taylor and Reese Flinn; and a large extended family and many friends.
