After a brief illness, Liberty "Betty" Avelino, age 89 entered heaven's gate on March 7, 2021. A loving mother and homemaker, Betty was a true example of grace, class, and strength. Betty had a bachelor's degree in education and taught at the high school level in the Philippines. Her husband's military career allowed Betty and her family the opportunity to live in japan, Hawaii, San Diego, and Atlanta where they settled permanently.
After several years of being a stay-at-home mom, betty decided to rejoin the workforce and became a Quality Inspector for an electronics company where she retired. Betty spent the majority of her retirement years in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and two daughters and their family.
Betty will be remembered for her faith in god that gave her the strength to endure the passing of her son and husband. She will also be remembered for her honesty, determination, her devotion to all of her grandchildren, her love of purses, jewelry, and Danielle Steele books.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Judy Lawhead and Robert Lawhead (Son-in-law) and Anna Avelino; grandchildren, Roberto Avelino, wife Marlene Avelino, Ruben Avelino, Daniel Avelino, Alexis Avelino, Robert William Lawhead, Marcus Avelino and Melanie Avelino; great grandchildren Robert Adrian Avelino, Ray Avelino, Hector Gamboa, Jayden Avelino, Brielle Avelino and Robert William Lawhead, Jr; daughters-in-law, Lorraine Avelino and Valerie Simpson.
Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Servillano P. Avelino and her son, Servillano M. Avelino, Jr., her brothers and parents.
