James Dow Hart, aged 78, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2024, at his home in Lakeside, California. He was born on November 13, 1945, in San Diego, CA, to Charles and Lucille Hart. He graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego and went on to graduate from San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Arts. He was drafted during the Vietnam War and chose to enlist in the U.S. Marine Corp for a four year enlistment in June of 1966. He was stationed in Vietnam for 13 months from April 1968 through May, 1969. He proudly served as an Aviation Ordnanceman and was stationed in Chu lai, Vietnam. He married Patricia on March 9, 1973 and had two loving children Steven and Jennifer. He worked as a mechanical drafting engineer and retired after 40 years in that field.
James is survived by his wife, Patricia; son Steven Hart and wife Allison; daughter Jennifer Davey and husband Matt; granddaughters Shannon and Hannah; grandsons Israel and Connor; older brother, Mark Hart and wife Griselda; younger sister Mary Ryan and husband Mike; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
James is preceded in death by his father Charles Fenton Hart, Sr.; mother Crystal Lucille Hart; and older brother Charles Fenton Hart,Jr.
Family, friends, and others are invited to El Camino Memorial, Chapel 2, ,5600 Carroll Canyon Rd., San Diego, CA 92121 from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on June 10, 2024, to reminisce and honor the life of James Hart. Following the service, guests are invited to drive and attend the committal service with military honors at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA 92122 from 2:00pm - 2:45pm. Immediately following, there will be a Celebration of Life Reception at the Davey Residence located at 9743 Abbeyfield Rd, Santee, CA 92071.
