Irene Frances Foster

September 15, 1919 to February 15, 2012

Irene, 92, a third generation native of San Diego, passed away peacefully. Irene was born to Ernest and Erminia Bongianni (Guglielmetti). She graduated in 1938 from Hoover High School. She retired from Bank of America. She formerly volunteered at Sharp Cabrillo Hospital for 25 years. She worked at Linda Vista Department Store, and she was a member of Eagles, and was also a member of the West Coast Rifle Club.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-Laws, Ron and Barbara Clark of Lake Havasu City, AZ and Larry and Betty Firsch of EI Cajon, CA. Irene has two great-great-grand-children, 14 great-grandchildren, six grandchildren and several relatives in the area. She was the former granddaughter of Tranquil and Matilda Guglielmetti of Mission Valley. She was preceded in death by two brothers Arnold and Louie and her husband Stanley Foster. She was a good Mother, Grandmother, Auntie, and Friend.

A memorial will be held at Goodbody Mortuary, 11 a.m. Thursday, February 23, 2012, followed by graveside services at Holy Cross Cemetery.
