Elnora Amelia Stone

Elnora Amelia (Sanborn) Stone, age 97, a long-time resident of San Diego, CA passed away in her sleep on the morning of Sunday, December 19, 2021 in Wellington, FL. She was born January 14, 1924 in Sparta, WI and moved to San Diego after her marriage to Virgil Barton in 1941. She later married Thomas Stone in 1964.

Elnora enjoyed camping with her buddies, gardening, board games, was a big fan of the San Diego Padres, the Green Bay Packers, watching the pony and dog races; the Kentucky Derby and the Greyhounds! She had an awesome sense of humor, and always had a smile on her face!

She leaves behind a sister Ada, four grandchildren, Larry, Cheryle, Robert and Terri, eight great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, and two sons-in-law Kenneth and Mack. She also leaves behind her beloved fur baby, Luna! She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, and all those who knew her and loved her!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Harriet (McComb) Sanborn, both of her husbands, her siblings; William, Everett, Charlotte, Maurice, Charles, Leroy and all three of her children Anna May, Virgil Wayne, and Kathy Elnora.

A funeral service for Elnora will be held Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121, followed by a graveside from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM.
