She is remembered lovingly by her children, Dennis and Heidi; grandchildren Oliver and Roan; sister-in-law Mary Key; nephews Greg Key and John Garvey; and niece Kate Garvey. Eleanor was raised in Detroit, Michigan, as the only child of Eleanor & John Bock. At 12 years old she was a pianist protege. She attended Dominican (Catholic) High School, and then college in Detroit where she met her beloved husband Frank Sullivan at a dance.
At 50 years old, she received her Bachelor's degree at San Jose State University. She worked in computer sales for 6 years, retail for 7 years, and real estate for 5 years while raising a family. She was raised Catholic and married Frank Sullivan on January 9th, 1960. They danced through 63 years together. They both loved to travel and decided to move out to Gilroy, California. In 1973 they bought a VW camper; loaded up the family, and then traveled throughout Europe and Northern Africa for seven months and lived in Valencia, Spain for five months.
As empty, nesters they moved to Nevada for about 9 years before returning to California. They fell in Love with Solana Beach and lived there till 2014. Eleanor was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank Sullivan.
She donated to various charitable organizations: World Wildlife Foundation, Save The Redwoods, and various animal rescue nonprofits. She was a dedicated artist, dancer, crafter, quilter, woodworker, and amazing gift wrapper, she even volunteered for the Democratic party. She also was a part of the Moonlight Ukulele Strummers where she hula danced for 8 years in Solana Beach, California.
