It is with great sadness, that the family of Denes Feher announces his passing after a courageous battle with cancer. Denes passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on July 4, 2022 at the age of 92 years.
Born in Hungary in 1930, growing up Denes was know by the neighborhood as “The Captain” and it was with those that he fought alongside with in the Hungarian Revolution in 1956, before fleeing to Norway.
Denes was a devoted family man who worked hard and loved harder. In his 45-year career as a long haul trucker, Denes made friends state to state across the nation. He took great pride and pleasure in his work and in his travels behind the wheel. His rig was as polished as his driving safety record, as his many awards showed over the years. During his lifetime his many jobs included that of a bus driver, a merchant marine, and a mechanic prior to his truck driving years. His commitment and work ethic was only outshined by his love for his family.
Denes was married to his beloved wife Anne for 48 years before losing her to breast cancer in 2011. Together, they came from Norway in 1965 to build their life and family in San Diego. The home that they created became a special place where everyone felt welcome and loved over the years and their door and their hearts were always open. It was a place of celebration and comfort and many happy memories for many generations.
He was a spiritual man, a problem-solver, fun loving, a fixer of all things and had a heart of gold. Denes will be dearly missed by his four daughters, Nora, Christin, Denise and Renee. He will also be lovingly remembered by his 3 surviving siblings, his four grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, his nieces and nephews, along with all who knew him.
