J. Anthony Robinson

He was born on September 24, 1949 to Johnny Robinson and Margie Kennedy in Cartersvitte, GA.

In 1966, he met the love of his life, Ann Williams during his time as a band member. On December 12, 1968, Ann and John got married and welcomed their first child that same year.

He was employed at Lockheed in Marietta,GA, as an aircraft mechanic. Later, he transferred to Lockheed in Palmdale, CA. After leaving Lockheed, he pursued a career as a truck driver at OWL Rock in Rialto, CA until retirement. In the 1980's, he was lucky enough to win the lottery and shared the winnings with about a dozen people.

He loved music, some of his favorite artists include: Marvin Gaye, Issac Hayes, Prince, and Earth, Wind & Fire. He loved sports too, his favorite football team was the Atlanta Falcons, his favorite basketball team was the LA Lakers, and his favorite baseball team was the LA Dodgers.

He also loved dogs; and had many over the years, including. Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, and Huskies. He played Chess... A LOT! Before the computer, his two main competitors were his late brother-in-law Ricky, and his friend Art.

Preceding his death were his parents (Johnny Robinson and Margie Kennedy), his wife (Ann Robinson), Brother-in-law (Joel Williams), Brother (David Robinson), and his nephews (Kevin and Andre Robinson). He is survived by 5 children (Saundra Rogers, John Robinson Jr., Van Smith, Maurice Robinson, and Lesley Clark), 16 grandchildren (Maurice Jr., Michael, Jonathan, Marquiss, Shabreese, Malayna, Anthony, Miah, Neveah, Kialynn, Branden, Darryl, Cierra, Jalon, Brooke, and Bethani), and 6 great grandchildren (Trey, Malayah, Amiyah, Lee Lee, Enzo, and Aubryanna).

A visitation for J. will be held Monday, August 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 East Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404, followed by a committal service from 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM.
