Mrs. Elvira Vidaurri Hernandez, age 92, of Redlands, peacefully passed away on October 24, 2019.
Elvira was born on May 13, 1927 in the small town of Douglas, Arizona. Later in life, she moved west to beautiful Southern California where she raised her wonderful family. “Vera” was an avid and talented bowler who always held a remarkable average well into her 60’s. Her passion for bowling was passed down to her children and grandchildren creating memorable moments of family fellowship throughout the years.
Mrs. Hernandez loved gardening and could always be found reading a book. She had an incredible knack for quickly completing the most challenging word search puzzles and could solve crossword puzzles in a matter of minutes. Elvira loved playing Yahtzee with her family to pass the time and to engage in meaningful conversation. One of her most endearing traits was her natural affection to hum and sing as she went about her day, and it was impossible for anyone to hold back a smile when hearing the beautiful melodies Elvira expressed. Undoubtedly, she will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
Elvira was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Hernandez. She is survived by three children, Olivia Lopez, Charlotte Savage, and Adrian Hernandez; two sisters, Alice Perez, and Eva Martinez; five grandchildren, Alex Lopez, Jr., Rebecca Marty, Richard Robledo, Christopher Robledo, and Adrienne Ayala; and 10 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 11th at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 East Highland Ave., San Bernardino, CA 92404. The viewing is at 10am, followed by 11am mass, and concludes with graveside services at 12:15pm.
