David Mielak, 70, of San Bernardino, passed away December 17, 2018 at home. He was born to Jacob and Elsie Mielak on April 27, 1948. He attended Aquinas High School and San Bernardino Valley College. He and Diane Eason were married fifty-two years until he passed.
Dave had a lucrative career in furniture sales and management with major companies such as Mc Mahan's, Heilig Myers and Best Buy.
Davey Darts loved sports especially his Dodgers, Rams and Lakers. He, himself, was particularly good at bowling, darts, and pool. He will be remembered as a skilled bowler beginning in the Junior Leagues at a young age. At 12 years old, he had the highest bowling average in the nation for Bantam Bowlers.
He is survived by his wife Diane, daughter Christine Lockman, son Robert (Michelle) Mielak, and four grandchildren: Crystal Myers, Matthew Mielak, Jacob Lockman and Rebecca Mielak, plus two-and-a-half great grandchildren.
Family services will be private. A celebration of life will be held separately on January 12th, Saturday at 3:00 pm at the American Legion Post 777, 194 E. 40th Street, San Bernardino.
While his remarkable talent will always be recounted in sport numbers, it was his soft-spoken humility and his ever-present infectious warmth and smile that touched peoples' hearts. "And he never had a bad day in his life."
