Virginia Z. Barrera, age 94, went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2013. She was born January 23, 1919 in Rancho El Capote, Tamaulipas, Mexico to Florencio Zuniga and Rafaela Vento. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Manuel Barrera, Sr. and daughter, Maria V. Barrera-Parsons in 1996.
She is survived by her 9 children; numerous grandchildren & great grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, Monday, July 1, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1114 Willow St., followed by a Rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass will continue at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Private interment will be at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on a later date.
