Valente Zapata Jr.

Valente Zapata, Jr. loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother entered into eternal rest on November 23, 2011 at the age of 65. He was born on September 24, 1946 in Corpus Christi, TX to Valente E. and Adela Zapata. Valente honorably served in the United Stated Marine Corps and is a Vietnam veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Richard Zapata. Valente is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Yolanda Zapata; children, Rose Ann Zapata, Ronald Henry Zapata (Julie), Monika Adela Guajardo, and Marissa Zapata Milner; grandchildren, Jason Christopher, Clarissa Nicole, Jessica Alicia, Gabriella Karol, Roman Joshua, Annalise Adela, and Isabella Julia; brother, Heriverto Zapata; sister, Faustina Zapata; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home and a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011 to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 152 Florencia. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
