Tommy Graham passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the age of 89 in San Antonio Tx. Tommy was born January 10, 1930 in Kaufman, Texas to Thomas Evans Stone and Annie Slaughter Stone. She spent her childhood in Kaufman Texas, relocating with her mother to Dallas after she graduated from Kaufman High School in June 1947. Tommy entered the workforce in Dallas joining Atlantic Richfield as a secretary and worked there for the next several years. In May 1954, Tommy met William R. (Bob) Graham of Dallas and they married the following year. Three children followed in rapid succession, Geoff, Gayle and Greg. Tommy returned to the workforce in 1970, starting her first stint at Southern Methodist University in the Health Center where she worked for the next five years. Tommy and her family relocated to Brownsville Texas where she and Bob resided for the next 4 years. Upon her return to Dallas, she returned to SMU and worked in the Financial Aid office for several years. She left SMU to work for Shamburger Building Centers and remained there until her retirement. She loved reading, movies and shopping. Upon her husband’s death in 2015 Tommy relocated to San Antonio to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law. She was an avid supporter of many groups, with a particular emphasis on supporting Planned Parenthood and their goals to provide healthcare to women who could not afford or lacked access to this critical service. For those who knew Tommy, she was a force to be reckoned with, fiery, opinionated, funny, truthful and full of energy. She will forever take up space in her children’s minds. Tommy is survived by her three children; son Geoff Graham (Paula) of Dallas; daughter Gayle Graham-McFall (John) of San Antonio; and son Gregory Graham (Nikole) of Dallas; granddaughter Caitlin Graham of Austin; grandson Hunter McFall of San Antonio, granddaughter Nicole Hillin Chasteen and the light of everyone’s eyes, her great-granddaughter Maverick Chasteen of Oklahoma City, OK; her niece Melissa Boesch of Dallas, and although she wouldn’t want this said, numerous grand dogs and great grand dogs. Tommy was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Graham (Dallas), grandson Justin Hillin (Plano), granddaughter Ralita Sitio (Indonesia), and sisters Jean Boesch (Dallas), and Suzanne Smith (Kansas City). Tommy will be interred alongside Bob at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on Friday, April 5, 2019. A memorial service will be held at Highland Park Cafeteria, Dallas Texas on Saturday April 6, 2019 at 2:30pm for family and friends.
