A celebration of Ted’s life will be held on Monday, September 19th, 2022, at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238, from 6 pm - 8 pm. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, September 20th, 2022, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209, at 11:30 am.
Capt. (Ret. USAF) Evans was born July 15, 1939 to William Kelly and Mildred Cooley Evans of Spring City, TN. The younger of two, he and his sister, Marsha Arnhart, grew up in a loving household. He attended Spring City High School where he lettered in several sports and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Tennessee Tech University.
While attending Officer Training School in San Antonio, TX, he met his wife, Yolanda Rosales. After a short courtship, the two married and had 2 children, Lisa Dianne and Richard Todd Evans. Ted spent 23 years in the Air Force moving with his family to Alaska, Nebraska, Italy, and back to San Antonio, where he ultimately retired. After retiring from the military, he worked as a lab technician at Southwest Research Institute and a research assistant at UT Health Science Center, San Antonio.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife, Yolanda; his daughter, Lisa Frost and husband, Gary; his son, Richard and wife, Cristina and granddaughter, Rosella; his sister, Marsha, and a large extended family.
