He served his country active duty with the United States Army and retired from the U. S. Army National Guard after 29 years of service. He was employed at University Hospital for 27 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Ramirez and Guadalupe Flores Ramirez.; his siblings, Amparo Ramirez Cadena, Juanita Ramirez Vargas, Esperanza Ramirez Pena, Francis Ramirez Cordero, Ramiro Ramirez, Mario Ramirez, Josefa Ramirez (Alvarez) Bryan , Guadalupe Ramirez, Guadalupe Ramirez Garcia, Consuelo Ramirez Macias and Francisco Ramirez Jr.; nephew, Albert Pena.
He is survived by his nieces, Rosario P. Hamilton and Hilda Pafford; nephews, Arturo Pena, Armando Pena and Frank Pena; also, other numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd. The Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 25, 2021 at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1710 Clower St., San Antonio, TX 78201, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions, Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery will only allow 25 guests to attend the Committal Service including Family, Pallbearers and Clergy. Facial coverings must be worn at all times.
