Sandra Raye Hediger Boone left her earthly home and entered the Kingdom of Heaven to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 7:00 a.m. on Christmas Day, Saturday, December 25th, 2021. She was born June 10th, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas to Collis Ray and Dorothy Nell Hediger, nee Simms.
Sandy, as she was lovingly called by family and friends, was the eldest of four daughters. She was raised in San Antonio and also lived in Corpus Christi, Texas and Hollywood and Los Gatos, California. She married Coy Dale Boone of Devine, Texas July 2nd, 1966 in San Antonio and moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina (where Coy was stationed with the U.S. Army) in September of 1966. Daughter Rebecca Sue Boone was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina. In April of 1968 the family moved back to San Antonio where Coy resumed his career with San Antonio Police Department. Son Collis Loranzey Boone was born in San Antonio. The family lived in Pipe Creek, Texas from 1973 to 1979 before returning to San Antonio. Throughout her many moves and travels, she always loved San Antonio and considered it her home. Sandy had a lifelong love of learning and when she became interested in a topic she learned everything she possibly could about it, even before the internet. She enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren and entertaining friends and family with her Norma Desmond impersonations.
She loved reading, movies, music, theater, art, photography and nature. She enjoyed traveling with Coy and together they explored the American Southwest. She also traveled to New York, London, Paris and Scotland. She was a dedicated and professional administrative assistant and owned both a secretarial service and bookstore with her beloved Aunt Pat Brown. Sandy loved her family dearly and shared a strong bond with her Husband Coy, Daughter Rebecca and Son-in-law Joseph, Son Collis and Daughter-in-law Barbara, Aunt Pat Brown, Sisters Sheri, Colleen and Stacy, and her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Sandy loved the Lord with all her heart and ministered to many people throughout her life. She led countless people to Christ and was a mighty Prayer Warrior. Even in her last days she continued to minister to her loved ones as they surrounded her. She looked forward to spending eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus with the excitement of a child on Christmas morning.
