Born on November 20, 1932, in Boston, Massachusetts, Sandy grew up imbued with a spirited, kind, and generous nature, complemented by a supreme sense of humor and endless chutzpah. Sandy’s early years in Boston laid a strong foundation for her spirited approach to life. She later moved to Atlanta, where she worked with Lockheed and met her second husband, Al Bonilla. Together they shared a life filled with love, laughter, and card games, notably Mah Jongg and Canasta, which were among Sandy’s favorite pastimes.
She is survived by three daughters, one son, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Gussie Seifer of Hull, Massachusetts; her daughter, Jodie; and her husband, Al Bonilla, both from San Antonio.
A private memorial service will be held to honor Sandy’s vibrant life. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Sunset Northwest Funeral Home in San Antonio. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Sandy can be made to the Barshop Jewish Community Center, 12500 NW Military Hwy, Suite 200, San Antonio, TX, 78231, a place that reflects her spirit of community and generosity.
