Rosalie was born May 2, 1935 in Granite City, Illinois to William and Lillie Graf. She grew up in Granite City and graduated from Granite City High School in 1953. In November 1956 she married her best friend, Raymond (Ray) Buente. Her dream of motherhood came true in November 1965 when she had Thomas, (Tom). Together they lived in Granite City, Illinois until the early 90s when Ray and Rosalie bought their dream home in Ellisville, Missouri. In April 2013, Ray and Rosalie moved to San Antonio, Texas to be closer to their son, Tom. Rosalie and Ray built an amazing life and left every place they lived better.
Rosalie never met a stranger and had an innate ability to make friends. She loved to travel and it is said she single-handedly kept Hallmark in business with her greeting card purchases. She never missed a birthday, anniversary or holiday. Rosalie was a cherished friend and a remarkable baker. Whether it was a Texas sheet cake, key lime pie or her holiday breads, each treat was a testament to her love and passion for spreading joy. Her warm smile and generous spirit made every gathering special, turning simple moments into lasting memories.
As we reflect on the impact she had on our lives, we are comforted by the thought that she is now reunited with the love of her life and best friend, Ray. R & R together once again, will undoubtedly share in the joy and laughter that defined their lifetime. Her absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, and she will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents William and Lillie Graf; brother Dale Graf; and her adored husband, Ray Buente.
Rosalie is survived by her sister, Joyce Willmore (Granite City, IL); brother and sisterin-law, Bob and Tricia Graf (Aurora, CO); son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Julie Buente; and a host of many beloved family and friends.
