SFC Ronald C. Ward U.S. Army (ret.), age 74, went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2014. He was born on March 16, 1939 in Lafayette, IN to Isaac & Jean Ward. After 20 years, he retired from the U.S. Army. He was a loving husband, father, great grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gerald G. Gunnels.
He is survived by his caring wife of 48 years, Maria “Victoria” Ward; 4 children, Elizabeth M. Sanchez & husband Raymond, Ronald Ward Jr., Bianca J. Cooper & husband Michael and Bettina D. Ward; 10 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
There will be a Memorial Rosary, 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The Memorial Service will be 12 noon, Monday, February 10, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. The Graveside Service will continue at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
