Ronald D. Mendoza entered into eternal rest on March 17, 2017, at the age of 72. Ronald was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. He is a Vietnam Veteran; he honorably served his country as a United States Marine from 1963-1967. He worked at Kelly Air Force Base for 30 years and retired in 1999. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and loved spending time with his family. He is a member of the Pan American Golf Association. He spent many beautiful days enjoying his favorite pastime, golfing with his friends. He also enjoyed fishing and traveling. He had a joyful spirit and was so full of life. He touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ike B. and Helen Mendoza; brother, Ike B. Mendoza Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Nancy (Valdez) Mendoza; son, Ronald Mendoza Jr. ; daughter, Christine Silva and husband, Edward; grandchildren Joel, Gabriel, Christopher, Hannah; brothers, Rene Mendoza, Jay Mendoza (Roberta); sisters, Ruth Mendoza, Helen Camargo, Darlene Mendoza; sister-in-law, Edith Mendoza; Aunt, Gladys Rios; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road, 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. Funeral mass will be April 3, 2017 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5919 Ingram Road, San Antonio, Texas with Father Phillip Henning officiating.
