He loved to purchase empty property lots and build houses for future rental homes.

He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Rios; brother, Frank Rios Jr.; sister, Genevieve Amaya; brother, Eddie Ortiz.

He is survived by his mother, Gudelia Rios; children, Mathew Rios, Roger Rios, Marla Rios and Jack Rios; grandchildren, Harlow Rios, Jacob Calderon III, and David Johnstone; siblings, Tommy Ortiz (Dorothy), Frank Ortiz (Ellen), Sylvia Allen (Ed), Ruby Lopez (Morris), Belinda Santillan (Oscar), Rita Rios (Robert) and Steve Rios (Leticia); significant other, Jennifer Herrera; also, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, followed by a Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. The Procession will depart from the funeral home on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 9:15 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of The Resurrection at San Fernando Cathedral, 115 West Main Plaza, San Antonio, TX 78205. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, only 100 guests will be allowed in the funeral home chapel.

Masks are recommended to be worn while in the building.
