Richard attended Jefferson High School and graduated from St. Mary’s University with a degree in business administration. Alongside his education Richard was passionate about music. He became a professional musician at the age of 15 specializing in the clarinet, saxophone and flute.
Richard worked hard in life and went on to own his own business. He was even recognized in 1994 as running a top 50 company according to the Hispanic Business 500. In addition to running a business, he spent 20 years volunteering as a Blue and Gold officer for the United States Naval Academy.
His hobbies included building models and he will be remembered for traveling the world with his wife Patty. Together they explored countries such as England, France, Egypt, Russia, and Italy. Additionally, he loved to scuba dive with his family in the most pristine diving locations such as Aruba, Belize, the Virgin Islands, and the Cayman Islands.
Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory his twin sons Vance and Vaughn, daughter in law Lindsay, and granddaughters Sam and Ashton.
Richard meets in Heaven his beloved wife Patty, daughter Valerie; infant son Vincent; brother Joe, and parents Joe and Janie Villarreal.
A graveside service for Richard will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218.
