Richard V. Paniagua, age 77, passed away March 7, 2019. He was born on February 9, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas to Federico and Juanita Vidal Paniagua. Richard was employed with the City of San Antonio for 36 years where he last worked as a supervisor. He retired in 1998 at the age of 56. He was devoted to his Catholic faith and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and St Jude Parish. He thoroughly enjoyed spending quality with his children and grandchildren; nothing made him happier. A man of extreme fortitude, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, and raised their 11 children on his own, never remarrying. He instilled faith, love, work ethic and a devotion to God to his entire family. He was a loving example of selflessness and generosity to all and never put himself first. He was loved and admired by so many and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his children, Richard (Andrea Lubbbers) Paniagua Jr., Valerie (George) Dombart, Jacob (Cherice) Paniagua, Mary Paniagua, Gregory Paniagua, Philip (Maricela) Paniagua, Paul (Maria) Paniagua, Monica Paniagua, John Paniagua, Maryann Paniagua, and Elizabeth Paniagia; 22 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Fred Paniagua and Ben Paniagua; sister, Nancy Hardin; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 159 Camino Santa Maria, 78228 with entombment to follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
