On September 13, 2017, Richard Lee Horne, husband, father, and pioneer, passed away in San Antonio, Texas. Richard took his last breaths surrounded with love and comfort by friends and family, including his wife and his two daughters.
Richard was born on February 13, 1943 in Kokomo, Indiana to Jack and Velma Horne, and he was the oldest of three brothers and one sister. Richard was a graduate of St. Mary’s University in San Antonio earning a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Business Administration.
Richard was a larger-than-life figure with varied interests. He worked as an accountant, businessman, and conservationist. As a passionate activist in wildlife and habitat conservation, Richard was a member of several like-minded organizations including the Boone and Crockett Club, Game Conservation International, and the Safari Club International. Richard was an accomplished hunter, and he loved travelling the world hunting big game.
