It is with profound sadness we must announce the death of Rene O. Aguilar Jr., 38. He tragically and unexpectedly passed away Sunday May 19, 2024, as the result of a motorcycle accident. Rene “Nay” is now reunited with his maternal grandparents Merced M. Ortiz Sr., Francis B. Ortiz and his uncle, Merced B. Ortiz Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Amanda Rodriguez, his sons Merced Augustine Aguilar, Angel Garcia, and Aalias Rodriguez, his daughters Jessyka Renee Aguilar and Marie Rodriguez, his mother Alma O. Alanis and stepfather Donnie Alanis, his father Rene Aguilar Sr and stepmother Gloria Ann Aguilar, He is also survived by his siblings, Alonzo Aguilar (Christina), Bryan Aguilar (Dora), Robert Rene Rodriguez (Juanita), Daniel Anthony Rodriguez (Sandra), and Angela Marie Rodriguez. His nieces include Zoie Aguilar, Brnay Aguilar and Nadia Apolinar (Nico), Sarah Rodriguez, Jubilee Rodriguez, and Leanne Bentancourt. His nephews include Bryan Aguilar, Christopher Rene Rodriguez (Angelica), Robert Anthony Rodriguez, Michael Rene Rodriguez, Devin Bentancourt, and Jeramiah Tapia. His great nephews include Adrian Yaniel Rodriguez and Dominic Rene Rodriguez and Joziah Longoria. His Great niece, Adalina Gonzalez. His paternal grandparents Jesus G. Rangel and Carmen M. Rangel. He will also be missed and remembered by countless aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and so many within the motorcycle community.
Nay grew up in the southside of San Antonio and worked as a high-performance mechanic. He recently fulfilled a dream of owning his own auto mechanic shop, Word to Mouth, and was regarded by his peers as one of the best in the industry, mostly due to his dedication to the craft. He filled the hearts of those that he knew with his humor and ability to make you happy to be in his presence. He was a bright light of happiness within his family, and he will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Rene will be held Thursday, June 6th from 5:00pm till midnight at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78211. The Chaplet of The Devine Mercy will be recited on Thursday June 6th at 7:00pm. Final visitation will be held on Friday June 7th 8:00am to 9:00am with a 10:00am funeral mass to follow at St Leo’s Catholic Church 4415 S. Flores St. San Antonio, Texas 78214. Procession will continue to the interment service at El Carmen Cemetery 18555 Leal Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78221.
