Ray was born February 18, 1949 to Helen and Raymond Pearce in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. During his life time he had the opportunity to acquire many new skills and because of his love of learning new things was never without a job. Ray enjoyed designing and building the most. His post-graduation career started at Holt Machinery in design and then selling engines and generators for oil fields and emergency power. He then transitioned to a short stint at Red McCombs but ended up doing what he loved, designing and building swimming pools. The first pool customers received hand drawn pictures of their pools and surrounding landscape. As Ray’s children, Katie, Liz and James grew up he began officiating at their swim meets from summer league to collegiate. He then moved on to officiating Collegiate, Paralympic and national meets held in Texas. Most every weekend was spent on pool decks officiating and refereeing meets around the state of Texas even long after his children quit swimming. Rays other passion was his love for all things fishing. He was happiest any time he had a line in the water
Ray finally achieved his lifelong goal of owning a ranch near Hondo, Texas. He enjoyed designing structures, building a cabin and learning to use farm tools. He dearly loved his time on the Pearce Ranch watching the wildlife and growing the turkey and deer population.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Helen Pearce, as well as stepfather Thomas Pike.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Alice Pearce; three children. Katie Hollatz( Rick Hollatz) Elizabeth Phipps (Ronnie Phipps) and James Pearce; and his nine grandchildren Madison, Carter, Kennedy, Hudson, Sage, Wyatt, Rose, Houston, and Everett; as well as his brother Jim Pearce (Ruth Pearce)
and many nieces and nephews.
