Raul O. San Miguel, “El Girafa” also known as “Gury” and “Slim”, born on March 6, 1929 went to be with Lord on December 27, 2013 at the age of 84. He graduated from Lanier High School in 1948 and was a member of “Class 1945” Lanier State Championship Basketball. He retired from Kelly Air Force Base after 39 years of Civil Service. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sarah San Miguel; children; Dolores Gonzales (Carlos), Reymundo San Miguel (Carmen L.), Dorelia San Miguel, Norma Jean Benavides (Byrne), and Naomi Puente (John Anthony, Sr.); 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; cousin, Benny Maldonado. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery No.2.
