Ramon G. Benavidez Jr.

Ramon G. Benavidez Jr., age 73, of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. He was born in San Antonio, Texas to Florencia and Ramon L. Benavidez Sr. Ramon graduated from Fox Tech High School and went on to join the United States Marine Corps. Professionally he worked as a design technician for the private sector and retired from TxDot after 20 years. Ramon enjoyed working out, lifting

weight, drawing, writing poetry, and watching sports, especially the Cowboys and Spurs. More than anything though, he loved supporting his family and going to his grandchildren's' extracurricular activities.

Ramon is preceded in death by both of his parents; and his brothers, Ruben Benavidez and Ramiro Benavidez. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Norma V. Benavidez; his daughters, Vanessa Williams (Jeremy) and Roxanne Benavidez and Karina Garcia; his grandchildren, Matthew Martinez, Zachary Williams, and Madilyn Williams; and his siblings, Irene Medina (Victor) and Bobby Benavidez (Maria) and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7:00 PM at Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N Main Ave., San Antonio, Texas 78205. The funeral mass will be Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 9:30 AM at St. Luke Catholic Church. 4603 Manitou Dr. San Antonio, Tx 78228. Burial will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, Texas, 78209.
