Ralph Joseph Karam, 60, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 11, 2017. He is survived by his mother, Azizi Karam, and his sisters and brothers, Mary Anne Karam, Jeanette Van Delden, Robert Karam, and Patrick Karam. He also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Solomon Karam Sr., and brother Solomon Karam Jr.
Ralphie was born on September 26, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from Antonian High School before attending the University of Texas, Austin and graduating with a degree in English.
Ralph worked with his family at Consolidated Produce during his youth before beginning his professional career by opening fragrance stores throughout San Antonio. Later he dedicated his service to various other family businesses before successfully establishing his vending machine and catering companies. He spent the last 20 years of his life helping the infirm, sick, downtrodden, and those seemingly left behind. No matter the job or task, Ralph always left an indelible impression.
Ralphie will be most remembered for his special gift of kindness and compassion. He practiced it every waking moment. He built his life on it. He was the textbook example of love thy neighbor and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Honorary pallbearers are Mary Elaine Ashmore, Alba De Leon, Billie Mery, Dwayne Mery, Eric Mery, George Mery, Ross Mery, and Robert Van Delden.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 6070 Babcock Rd., San Antonio, Texas, beginning with visitation at 9:00 am and a rosary at 10:00 am. The funeral liturgy will begin at 10:30 am.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude to the dedicated and compassionate staff at NE Baptist hospital MICU, who provided such wonderful support to Ralph and to all his family for the past two weeks.
