Ralph Michael “Mike” Harris of San Antonio and previously of Oakridge North,TX entered into eternal rest Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the age of 66. He was born August 15, 1946 in San Antonio to parents Ralph and Alice Harris. Mike served his country in the US Army during the Tour of Vietnam. He spent 15 years in the banking industry, worked 15 years as a plumber and most recently was employed at HEB in maintenance.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Ralph E. Harris and his in laws, John R and Mildred E. Whitfield; grandparents, Ralph E. and Mary F. Harris and Harry and Ella Albrecht.
He is survived by his spouse, Sharon Kay Whitfield Harris; children, Susan Michelle Harris-Algerio of Pittsfield, MA and Lance Christian Lucas of Round Rock, TX; grandchildren, Nicholas Algerio and Lea Algerio of Pittsfield, MA, Jazzmyn R. Lucas and Jade R. Lucas of Spring, TX, Jewel R. Lucas of Cypress, TX, Ayden C. Lucas of Kingwood, TX; mother, Alice E. Harris of San Antonio; siblings, Patricia Harris Abel of San Antonio, Phillip G. Harris of San Antonio, James E. Harris and wife Theresa of McQueen, TX, Steven D. Harris and wife Shawn of Parker, CO; sisters-in-law, Debra J. Whitfield Blunt of San Antonio, Patricia A. Whitfield Jordan of Victoria, TX; aunts, Lillian Forbrich of Garden Ridge and Rosabel Gerhart of San Antonio. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends in Houston and San Antonio.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mike’s coworkers and the management of HEB at Hwy 281 & Evans Rd, to Dr. Abram Trevino of New Braunfels, Dr. Jose Alameda of San Antonio and to CIMA Hospice of San Antonio.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mike’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
A memorial rosary will be recited Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma with a memorial mass to follow at 11AM.
