Rafael Luna Jr.

Rafael Luna Jr., was born in Weslaco, TX to Magdalena Vela Luna and Rafael Luna Sr. on January 16, 1947. He attended high school at Weslaco High. He went to further his education by attending Durham College in San Antonio, Texas. He enlisted into the USAF in June 1969 and served 6 years before being honorably discharged. He married Lois J. Carrillo on June 4, 1971, in Roseville, California. He retired as a Distribution Clerk at H.E.B after 33 years.

Rafael Luna Jr. is preceded in death by his parents and his 2 sisters.

Rafael Luna Jr. is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lois J. Luna, his children Olivia Haider (Scott Haider), Rafael Luna III (Jaime Luna), grandchildren, Victoria Haider, Ryan Luna, Alexander Haider, and Pierce Luna, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Rafael will be held Friday, November 17, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at St Monica Catholic Church, 501 North St, Converse, TX 78109.

A religious ceremony will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM, 501 North St, Converse, TX 78109.

A catholic mass will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 501 North St, Converse, TX 78109.

A committal service will occur Friday, November 17, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218.

Flowers can be sent to St Monica Catholic Church, 501 North St, Converse, TX 78109, or in lieu of flowers a donation can be made to St. Monica’s Relief for the Poor.
