Petra V. Arocha

Petra V. Arocha, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister, entered rest on April 22, 2012 at the age of 88. Petra was born to Eudelio Lopez and Carmen Velasquez in Reedsville, Texas on August 1, 1923. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Francisco Arocha, Jr.; and a brother, Juan Velasquez. She is survived by children, Andres Perez and Patsy G. Rendon; special granddaughter, Angelina Leyva; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Marcos Velasquez and wife Margarita, Carmen V. Gutierrez and husband Eulalio, Eudelio Velasquez, Jr. and wife Hope, Gloria V. Rios; sister-in-law, Emma O. Velasquez; numerous nieces and nephews. Petra will be remembered by her family for her loving and kind nature. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers for a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II. Pallbearers will be: Emett Leyva, Hector Garcia, Moses Dominguez, Joe Dominguez, Jr., John Anthony Lopez and Marcos Rubio. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Byron Simms and Joe Arrendondo.
