Dad, you are an amazing man and words cannot describe what you mean to us all and how Blessed we were. Your love for God, the Faith and Trust in Him that you have taught us will live in us forever. The love you showed us all filled our hearts and we thank you for always being there. We hope and pray that we can follow in your footsteps both in Faith and Love for our families. Hello Grandpa, 
I have many memories of you growing up. When I was little and had a bad dream you would hug me and I felt so safe. Driving me to school and making sure I had quarters for the vending machines.  You taught me how to ride the banana seat bike you bought me. Taking me to Rockys and always asking if I was full and wanted anything more. You took care of us even when you didn’t have to. You were a great father and the best Grandpa to me. You loved my Grandma so much and it showed. Thank you Grandpa for everything you have taught me, thank you for the love and shelter you gave me my whole life. Showed me the way a man should love me. You gave me my father and I will see you in him. I love you so much. Be with grandma now, watch over us together and forever. 

Grandpa, 
You have always been there for me and loved me unconditionally. You were a quiet man but knew when I needed to hear your  words of wisdom and advice. You are the best example of a man that your daughters deserve. Thank you and grandma for creating the family that we have today. I feel comfort knowing you are with Grandma now. Don’t worry for us, we will be ok as long as we have you both watching over us. Your memory will live through my dad. I love you grandpa. Tell my grandma I miss her too.  I’ll see you again someday. 

Dad, I want to Thank You for being such a loving, kind and caring father. We will never forget the vacation trips to Mexico, the fun trips to the beach, and excitement of going as a family to the drive-in. You taught us the value of hard work. You shared many stories about your life experiences as a young boy and your pride in owning a grocery store. But most important of all you showed and taught us to love God, Mom and each other. The faith I have in God now is because of you. And because of God, I know that you, Mom and Tonio are in heaven. We will love y’all forever and are in our hearts every day. Love, Leonor

He is survived by his children, Elvia Rivas (Francisco), Leonor Sambrano, Pedro Maldonado Jr. (Elsa), Mario Maldonado (Donna), Jose Manuel Maldonado (Janie), Armando Maldonado (Natalie), Leticia Maldonado (Joe) and Marylou Vega (Eugene); his 23 grandchildren; his 28 great-grandchildren; his sister, Maria Maldonado; his 4 legged companions, Pepper, Papi and Chewy; and his extended family and friends who loved him.


He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leonor Maldonado; his parents, Cenovio Maldonado and Florencia Yzaguirre Maldonado; his brothers and sisters; and his son-in-law, Antonio R. Sambrano.
