Pat was a proud and doting father and grandfather to his three daughters and six grandchildren. He was best known for his charisma and well-liked personality. He had a wealth of knowledge on many topics and was an expert firearms instructor. Pat’s sense of humor was always a source of laughter and he cherished his friendships. In his educational journey, Pat attended St. Henry’s Catholic School for his primary grades and later attended La Salle Catholic High School and graduated from Luther Burbank High School class of 1970. He furthered his education at San Antonio College.
Pat proudly served his country dedicating 4 years to the US Navy and an additional 24 years to the US Air Force Security Forces. He further continued his career serving the military as a federal civilian Combat Arms Training and Maintenance Instructor. He also served the community as a City of San Antonio Park Ranger, Bexar County Deputy Sheriff, Law Enforcement Officer for the town of Hollywood Park and for the Northside and San Antonio Independent School Districts. Outside of his professional life, Pat enjoyed spending time with his family and friends by hosting barbeques at his home. He also found relaxation in going for long motorcycle rides in the Texas hill country and listening to live music.
A funeral service will be held on January 12, 2024 beginning at 12:30 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. Following the service, there will be a funeral procession to Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery for additional services including Full Military Honors, a Native American Tribute, and a Deacon Blessing. Afterwards, the procession will return to St. Pius for a Celebration of Life Memorial, where family and friends can come together to honor Pat’s life. Light refreshments will be served.
