Olga "Minnie" Diaz

She was born in San Antonio, TX to Severo and Julia Cerda on March 22, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse R. Diaz in 1999, her brothers, Crecencio, Severo, Edmundo, Rogelio and Julio Cerda and her sister, Beatrice Nino.

Minnie is survived by her sons, Jesse Diaz and his wife, Cecilia, of San Antonio, TX and Edward Diaz and his wife, Edna, of Austin, TX. She has one granddaughter, Jennifer Diaz, who lived with and took care of Minnie since 1999.

Also surviving her is her brother, Alberto Cerda and his wife, Elida, her sister, Ninfa "Nancy" Rodriguez of San Jose, CA, sisters-in-law, Mary Rose Cerda, Marina Cerda and Lupe Gutierrez.

Minnie had many loving nieces and nephews who each held a special place in her heart. She will be deeply missed by all who referred to her as Grandma Minnie.

The family extends special thanks to Minnie's niece, Helen Delgado and to Josie and Denise from 24/7 Home Care who assisted in caring for Minnie at home and to Vitas Hospice for their care.

Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 12, 2012 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
