Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister and Aunt to those that loved her, was born in Viet Nam and moved to the United States in 1974.
In 1983, Nancy married Gregg Laridis and they began a 35-year journey all over the Western US, Asia and back to the Southwestern US.
All three of their sons, whom Nancy dearly loved, Billy, Jeff and Brian were born in San Antonio, TX. Billy resides in Corpus Christi with his wife Irma and their three children, Isaiah, Christian and Savannah. Jeff resides in Boise, ID with his girlfriend Carmen Leahu. Brian resides in Salt Lake City, UT with his girlfriend Caitlen Plaza.
Nancy loved to travel and take in all the sites. She especially enjoyed their two years in Hong Kong where she was able to visit her home country of Viet Nam six times. She saw friends and family that she hadn’t seen in over 30 years.
Following her return to the US in 2008, Gregg and Nancy moved to Salt Lake City then Flagstaff and currently Mesa, AZ. After moving to Flagstaff, Nancy was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. Nancy never smoked or drank, she was a very healthy person. This helped her to fight a courageous 6.5 year battle.
Nancy was an inspiration to all that met her, she always had a big smile, regardless of her circumstance. Her Doctors and Nurses admired her demeanor while facing this foe. She was “amazing” in their words.
Those who knew Nancy can attest to her will, strength and love for friends and family. One close friend of the family said “our Savior put people like Nancy on this Earth to show the rest of us how to live”.
Nancy went to be with our Savior on April 9th, 2018. She will have a special place in the hearts of those who knew her. She was a beautiful Soul inside and out.
She is preceded in death by her father Arvol Rickard.
In addition to her husband of 35 years and children, Nancy is also survived by her Mother, Le Thi Rickard, Sisters Beverly Pike, Nina Medley and Angie Rickard, all of San Antonio. Her Brother Michael Rickard of Las Vegas, NV and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home in San Antonio TX from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel.
