Miguel Luna Cortez, born 29 September 1928 in Killeen, TX, left to be with the Lord on 18 October 2012, at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his parents Basilio and Cecilia Cortez, brothers Theodoro, Carlos, Francisco, Sabino, Felix, and Crespin Cortez; sisters Margarita, Francisca, Hilaria, Carlita, y Maria; and daughter Maria Angelica. He is survived by his wife Maria, daughters Blanca, Janie (Raul), Isabel (William), y Maria (Victor); sons Michael Jr., Fernando (Gloria), Armando (Mari), y Rene (Laura); 18 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Miguel was a loving, giving person, naturalist, farmer, and Master Carpenter whose strong hands built the loving home that raised his children, helped restore Mission San Jose Church, and many other historic structures in San Antonio, and built hundreds of homes. Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino at 2525 Palo Alto Rd on Sunday, October 21 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm Sunday. A procession will depart the funeral home, Monday 22 October 2012 at 9:30 am for a 10:00 am Mass at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church on 1918 Palo Alto Rd with internment to follow in San Jose Cemetery.
