Michael Rene Ramirez entered into his eternal life on February 10, 2023 at the age of 52. He was born on January 8, 1971 in Bryan, Texas to Rev. Fortunato Avila Ramirez and Alicia Fierros Ramirez. He was the youngest of five children; and grew up in the United Methodist Church as a Preacher’s Kid (P.K.) of the Rio Grande Conference/ now Rio Texas Conference.
Michael attended Thomas Jefferson High School. He was part of the varsity swim team and served as captain of the team. He was involved in other groups, showing lots of school spirit, until his graduation in 1989. After high school, he attended Our Lady of the Lake University, where he also was part of several groups. He served as a resident advisor.
Michael dedicated his life to God and served in several different churches. As the family moved due to his father being appointed to many different churches, he helped served along with the family. He sang in the choir, was active in both children’s, and youth ministry at La Trinidad United Methodist Church in San Antonio, Pollard Memorial, and Westlawn UMC. He attended several Annual Conferences and held different positions at local, district, and conference levels as both a youth and adult . Lastly, he made his way to Alamo Heights United Methodist Church where he attended services regularly with his family/church family.
Michael will be reunited with his parents, Alicia and Rev. Fortunato Ramirez; brother, George Ramirez and sister, Martha A. Villalva.
His memory will forever be with his brothers, Henry Ramirez (Evelyn) and Richard Ramirez (Delia); brother in law, Victor M. Villalva Jr. ; nephew, Victor (Trey) M. Villalva, Adopted family Noelia Perez (Ernest Perez II) adopted nieces Sonia M. Perez- Hellinger, Sophia D. Perez (Clive San Miguel), Saniya N. Perez, and Ernesto Perez III. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
