Mary C. York

She was born on August 3, 1926 in Clay Center, Kansas. Her parents were William Nixon Baily

II and Dora Elizabeth Selders. Mary was a proud military wife and a lifetime member of the

Order of Eastern Star. She was a proud mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great

great grandmother. She treasured spending time with her family. She loved traveling with her

friends in a tour group. She was an avid supporter of her grandsons sporting events and prided

herself for never missing a game.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William Ely York; her son William Joe York, of San

Antonio, TX; her brother, William Baily of San Antonio, TX; and her sister, Doris Jean Baily

Tuxhorn, of Smith Center, Kansas.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Ann York Reynolds, of Topeka, Kansas and Barbara

Jean York Gore (John) of Horatio, Arkansas; her son, John Vernon York (Tina), of San Antonio,

Texas; her daughter in law Joan York of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Jason York, Steven

Reynolds, Ginni McDonald, Ryan Leeper, Jake Gore, William York, and John York; and a

number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and

nephews.

Graveside services for Ms. York will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 at 2:00pm at Ft. Sam

Houston National Cemetery.
