Mary G. Trevino was born on July 2, 1938, in Harlingen, Texas to Lalo and Rosa Garcia. She departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in her home surrounded by family. Mary graduated from Harlingen high school in 1957. She worked as a book keeper for many years until she met her love of her life Hector. She was a loving wife, mother, Mimi, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and loyal friend that will be dearly missed. Mary was a stay at home mom, who enjoyed helping those less fortunate. She served as a member and as treasurer of the Pan American League, a civic-minded women's organization whose collective efforts are aimed at promoting the well-being of the citizens of San Antonio by providing access to education, health care, and leadership opportunities. She also served as treasurer of El Patronato of the Hispanic culture, an organization that provides scholarships to students who are pursuing a higher level of education. Mary was well respected by her fellow members in her charitable organizations for her talent with numbers and her compassion to serve the less fortunate.
Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Hector Merced Trevino, her parents Lalo and Rosa Garcia, and her brother Joe Garcia and is survived by her children Jerry Trevino, Michael (Yolanda) Trevino, Celena (Rick) Salinas, sister Mona (Enrique) Gonzales, sister-in-law Rose Garcia, sister-in-law Emma (Braulio) Montalvo, brother-in-law Gabriel (Olivia) Trevino, six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, April 27, 2019, at 11 am and a private family Committal Ceremony will take place at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the:
