I may be far away, but she always held a special place in my heart. As an active duty soldier it always pains me to see family members go. However as most people say, this should not be seen as a negative but a positive. People should celebrate the memories and joy in her life, she will live forever in everyone’s memory and in heaven.

I remember Mary from high school. She was one year behind me in school. Because my good friend dated her brother, I became very familiar with all of the Codys. I send my condolences to her family and friends. Kathryn Vauthrin

I met Mary in 1968 when we lived in the same dorm at SWTSC, later Texas State. We became friends in no time. Shortly after, my BFF Maggie Cortez met Mary and the three of us were inseparable. Mary became a part of the Ancira family and the Cortez family. The three of us have been together through happy times and sad times. What we both remember most about Mary is how beautiful she was both inside and out. Her kindness, gentle ways, loving smile, and sense of humor, we'll never forget.

My sweet loving Mary was born June 19, 1950 and stepped into Heaven on September 8, 2023. Mary influenced my life tremendously with her gentle thoughtful ways Mary spread love everyday of her life. She lived her life with faith and hope. Devoted to family always. Mary was an educator and served her country in the United States Army 🇺🇸  Mary loved to work in her garden and shared her beautiful flowers and Meyer lemons with everyone. Mary loved animals and had a pond with pretty Koi fish. Mary is and always will be my hero 💜 She is shining brightly. till we meet again I love you your sister Sally
