Mary Carolyn Hollers George passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on June 5, 1930, in San Antonio, to parents, Helen Marley Knuti and James Porter Hollers. She will be interned with family at Mission Burial Park.
A devoted mother, writer and architectural historian, Mary Carolyn, is author of the 1992 definitive biography O'Neil Ford: Architect, as well as many other books and articles on art and the architecture of San Antonio, the Southwest and Northern Mexico. She earned a B.A. in Art from Mary Baldwin College in 1951 and an M.A. in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin in 1970. She taught art history courses at San Antonio College. Her late husband, architect W. Eugene George, was her collaborator on many projects as photographer, designer, and wise counsel.
Mary Carolyn is survived by her sons, Robert M.T. Jutson, Jr. and Scott H. Jutson.
