Mary Fresquez Cruz (Nanny), Age 82 passed away in quiet repose in the loving care of her family on August 23, 2015 in San Antonio, TX following a lengthy fight with kidney disease.
Beloved wife, she was predeceased by her loving husband of almost 60 years, CMSGT. Rosinaldo Cruz. She was the youngest of 9 children of Policarpio and Juanita (Ortega) Fresquez (both deceased) and born in Penasco, New Mexico. She is survived by her sister, Edumenia Martinez (Albuquerque, NM) and brother, Anselmo Fresquez (Maclovia), (Las Vegas, NV), Mother-in-law, Sulema Romero and Sister/
Brother-in-law, John & Olivia Romero ( Santa Fe, NM).
She and Ross were childhood sweethearts and throughout his military service, traveled and lived all over the world. Her passions were ( as a young girl) horseback riding and dancing, and later bowling and shopping. A very devout Catholic and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her zest for life and charismatic personality was evident to all who knew her. She dedicated her life to caring and raising her family and she loved all her family, friends, and God unconditionally.
Beloved by her children, Mary Stehling (Jerry), Ferdinand Paul Cruz (Dana) of San Antonio, Orlando Elmer Cruz of Santa Fe, NM, Joseph (Barbara) Cruz of San Antonio, and Larry Ross Cruz of Albuquerque, NM. Cherished Grandmother to Adam Stehling, Lauren Prince (Josh), Thomas Cruz, Ian Cruz, Christina Stehling (Fiancé-Casey) and Alycia Cruz. Blessed with Great-Grand Children: Christian, Noah, Brady, Charlotte, Katelyn, Piper, and Ellie; and with affection numerous loving relatives (especially her Nieces and Nephews), friends, and adopted children and grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 5-7:00 PM followed by a Rosary from 7-8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 4222 SW Loop 410, San Antonio, TX.
