Born on July 11, 1967, in San Antonio, Texas to parents Martin U. and Katherine G. Martinez, Martin was the youngest sibling growing up with four sisters.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Martin loved his native Texas roots and loved to travel whenever he had time to do it; if ever there was an opportunity to go on a road trip, Martin never hesitated to take that trip and enjoyed the scenery that came with it. In his younger years, he traveled with his family to numerous places and visited many National Parks and often said he would enjoy going back. One of his recent favorite places to visit was the Emerald Coast of Florida where he traveled in 2022 for his birthday with his girlfriend, Maria Guerra.
Aside from traveling, he was a sports enthusiast enjoying all sports, but he mostly enjoyed watching his favorite past-time, football. As a football player at Krueger Middle School and Theodore Roosevelt High School, Martin enjoyed the thrill of the game and the achievements that came with it; he had many favorite professional teams, but he mainly associated himself with the old crew of the Dallas Cowboys.
Never was Martin without love or without showing love to his two children and his family. Family was the most important thing in his life, and he constantly kept in touch with his loved ones, especially his children and his sisters. He was never one to shy away from an adventure and was always waiting for the next one to take him wherever it led him.
Martin was preceded in death by his father, Martin U. Martinez, Jr. (1991), and is survived by his children Martin Gregory Martinez and Danielle Nicole Martinez, his mother, Katherine G. Martinez; sisters, Diane Martinez Coronado, Carol Frail (Darrell), Sylvia Valdez (Arthur), Norma Martinez, and various nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, with visitation beginning at 12 PM until 3 PM with a Rosary to begin at 1 PM.
