Martha Barker Marks

Martha Margaret Barker Marks passed away January 2, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born July 11, 1923, she was called home to her Lord to be with her son Michael who preceded her in death. A most dedicated and loving Mother to all her children, daughters Marty (Martha) Marks and Debbie, husband Dave Hensley in Dallas, Alma Marks, Becky Flores, husband Richard, Yvonne McMurray, husband, Mark, and son Charlie Marks, all in San Antonio area. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Chris, Erica, Sophia, Elizabeth, Barbara, and great grandchildren, Dylan and Michayla plus numerous stepgrandchildren. Out of her 9 siblings, Martha is survived by her twin sister Mary Marquez in Carrollton and Alice Leitza in Chicago. Born in San Antonio, she spent the majority of her childhood in Torreon, Mexico, but returned to San Antonio in her teen years. After many years as a homemaker, as a single parent, she returned to work very successfully in the hotel industry

The family extends its sincere appreciation to the caretakers and friends their Mother had at Mesa Vista Inn. Visitation will take place at Funeraria del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd, Saturday, January 10, 2015, 1:00 to 2:30 pm followed by a Memorial Service officiated by Rev. Sue Gibson.
