Martha Ruth Garza, 68, was called by the Lord on June 18, 2019. She was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on December 28, 1950. She and her parents along with her two brothers came to the United States when she was 2 years old. Her parents wanted to give their children a better life with many opportunities in the US. Martha was raised with great family values and most of all, a Christian home. Martha graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1969. She always talked about how proud she was graduating from Jefferson High School. After high school, she married and started working for Southwestern Bell for the next 34 years. During that time, she had a daughter, and raised her with all her strength and provided all she could with her love. After she retired, she became a Substitute Teacher for NEISD for the next 8 years. She truly loved working with Special Needs children. Unfortunately, cancer took over her but she still had that beautiful smile and that witty sense of humor to keep her going, even until the end of her life. She will be missed greatly.
