Mrs. Maria Cortinas Pruneda of San Antonio, TX went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2015 at the age of 92 years. The daughter of Elena and Francisco Cortinas, she married the late Agustin R. Pruneda in a loving marriage that lasted 61 years and 11 children. Her life was devoted to family with a focus in providing educational encouragement and opportunities for their children. A beloved mother she was preceded in death by one child Rosario, she is survived by sons Adolfo (Lucy), Agustin, Arnulfo, Antonio, Alejandro (Jo Anne), Arnoldo, and Alberto Pruneda: daughters Manuela Pedraza (Antonio), Marta Ortiz, Margarita Garcia, and Myrna Martinez (Isaac); brother Manuel Cortinas and sister Genevieve Morales; 32 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Friday February 20, 2015 from 5 to 9 pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary recited at 7 pm. A prayer service will be held on Saturday February 21, 2015 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home at 10 am. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
